The administrative judiciary council according to article 5 of the Board of Grievances Law and article 6 of the Judiciary Law issued by the royal decree No M/78 dated 19/09/1428H has the following jurisdictions:
-Considering judges job affairs like appointment, promotion, disciplinary actions, seconding, mandate, training, transfer, vacation and termination of service etc… according to the defined rules and procedures in the manner guaranteeing independence of judiciary.
-Issue to regulations related to judges job affairs after approval of the King.
-Issue of judicial inspection regulation.
-Establishing, merging or cancellation of courts and determining their special and qualitative jurisdiction and arranging for their circles.
-Supervising courts and judges and their works within the limits stated in the two laws of Judiciary and Board of Grievances.
-Designation of courts of appeal heads and their assistants from courts of appeal judges and heads of first class courts and their assistants.
-Issue to rules organizing jurisdictions and authorities of heads of courts and their assistants.
-Issue of rules showing method of selection of judges and procedures and controls for freeing them from work responsibilities for study.
-Organizing works of attendant judges.
-Determining corresponding judiciary works required to fill judiciary jobs.
-Referring any suggestions related to his jurisdictions.
-Preparing comprehensive report by the end of each year including accomplishments achieved and obstacles and his suggestions in that regard and referring this to the King.
